On this page: Information about Council Tax in the Borough of Swindon.
Council Tax is payable on all domestic property.
It contributes over £80million of the money spent by Swindon Borough Council on local services.
The remaining cost is met from business rates, government grants and charges for using services. Details of the total cost of services, including police and fire authorities, are shown in budget and Council Tax levels.
The amount of Council Tax payable varies according to the value of your home. This is achieved by the Valuation Office Agency (Inland Revenue) placing all domestic property into one of eight bands (A to H).
