Council Tax reductions for disabled people
If you or any member of your household is disabled, you may qualify for a reduction in your Council Tax. Your home would need to contain at least one of these features:
- A second bathroom or kitchen that is required for meeting the needs of the disabled person
- A room set aside to provide facilities for the disabled person
- Sufficient indoor space for the disabled person to use a wheelchair
The amount of Council Tax you pay will reduce to the amount due for the band below your property's normal band. You can also receive a reduction if your property is in Band A. See: Your Council Tax property band and charges
