Foster carer and connected carer training
Post-approval training
When you are approved, the fostering service will provide you with a wide range of professional courses. These courses will enable you to improve your knowledge and understanding of caring for children who have experienced trauma. This will ensure they thrive in your care.
Our foster carers complete all the following courses in their first year of fostering:
- PACE (Therapeutic Parenting)
- Understanding and supporting attachment difficulties
- Paediatric First Aid level three
- Safe care and recording
- Child protection
- Child exploitation
- Training, support and development standards 1-7
Your supervising social worker will also help you identify future training needs.
