Planned breaks

This type of care provides support for children and teenagers, as well as their primary carers, to have a break. It is sometimes known as respite care.

Planned breaks are either provided as needed, or they could be provided as a regular arrangement on weekends or for a few weeks during the school holidays.

Foster carers also cover holidays and emergency situations when a family link has not been identified.

Where possible, we introduce the child to the home and the carer before the planned break occurs.

Planned breaks are not usually provided for children who are two years old or younger, as babies and toddlers need the consistent care of one caregiver.

If you have a spare bedroom and the time available to provide care at weekends or during school holidays, get in touch with us.
