Household recycling

Recycle box collections

Recycle boxes are collected fortnightly. Their contents are hand-sorted into different compartments on the collection vehicle.

If you leave more than one box out for collection, you should separate recycling into two boxes: one for paper and card and another for glass bottles and jars, tins, foil and aerosols. Sorting your recycling in this way makes collections quicker and safer.

Boxes should be placed at the nearest point of your property to the highway by 6.30am on your collection day. You can find your collection day using our online calendar.

What should and shouldn’t go in

Your recycling box or boxes can contain any of the items listed under ‘yes please’ below. Please note, they cannot contain food waste (this goes in your household rubbish) or plastics, which have their own collection. It is very important that only the correct, clean and dry items are put in the recycling box otherwise we cannot recycle them.

Assisted collection

We offer an assisted collection for people who are physically unable to transport their household rubbish and recycling to the front of their property.
