Office opening times
The Bereavement Services office is open Monday to Friday. It is closed at weekends and on bank holidays.

When to contact us
Contact us if you need help with a Bereavement Services enquiry that is not answered online.
This may include:
- booking an appointment to search burial or cremation records
- asking about grave ownership or transferring burial rights
- arranging a visit before a funeral
- asking about final resting place or memorial options
- arranging a cremation or burial without using a funeral director
Registering a death or stillbirth
Bereavement Services cannot register a death or stillbirth. Use our registration pages if you need to do this:
After a death has been registered, you can also use the Tell Us Once service to tell government and council services about the death.
