Arrange a cremation at Kingsdown Crematorium

Choose a final resting place for ashes

After a cremation, you can keep ashes at home, scatter them in a special place or choose a resting place in one of our cemeteries. Our bereavement services team can talk you through the options.

Your options for ashes

You may be able to choose from:

Cremated remains plot

A cremated remains plot is a burial plot for ashes.

These plots may be available at Kingsdown Cemetery or Whitworth Road Cemetery. Each plot can hold up to two sets of ashes.

Niche

A niche is an above-ground resting place for ashes.

It can hold up to two sets of ashes and includes a plaque for an inscription.

Tree of Remembrance

You may be able to scatter ashes in our Trees of Remembrance area.

You may also be able to lease an existing mature tree and scatter ashes around it. This depends on the location.

Existing family grave

You may be able to place ashes in an existing family grave at:

  • Kingsdown Cemetery
  • Radnor Street Cemetery
  • Whitworth Road Cemetery

You need permission from the registered owner of the grave.

Lawn of Remembrance

There are no new plots available on the Lawn of Remembrance.

An adjacent plot for next of kin may have been reserved when the lawn was first set up.

Contact us if you need to check whether this applies to your family.
