Important ID requirements for local elections on 3 May 2018

Anyone who lives and votes in the Borough of Swindon will be required to bring their poll card as a form of ID to vote in the local elections on 3 May 2018.

Order a new or replacement bin/recycle box

Swindon Borough Council supplies the following containers for household waste and recycling collection:

  • 180L black wheelie bin for general household rubbish
  • 44L black recycling boxes for paper and card, glass bottles/jars, tins/cans and foil
  • 240L green wheelie bin for garden waste (subscribed properties only)
  • Blue bags for general household rubbish are provided for properties that the Council has assessed as unsuitable for wheelie bins.

Households are entitled to one black bin and up to four free recycling boxes. Larger or additional wheelie bins can be provided in certain circumstances subject to a waste warden assessment.

Garden waste collections are an optional chargeable service and bins are only provided to current subscribers. To sign up see our Garden Waste Collections.

Replacements of lost, stolen or damaged recycling boxes and lids are free of charge and you may collect these yourself from the Household Waste and Recycling Centre reception.
