Your options at 16

There are many options open to you when you finish your GCSEs. You could choose to carry on studying some subjects you already like, or take a vocational qualification or an apprenticeship.

There are lots of things to think about when you leave school. To help you choose what to do next, you might want to think about the following:

  • What careers are you interested in? Some jobs need you to choose certain routes to get into them.
  • What are your predicted grades?
  • How do you want to learn? You might enjoy your school, and might like to continue into a Sixth Form. You might want to consider another school or a Further Education College.
  • Would you prefer to earn while you learn in a real job? An apprenticeship might be the right route for you.
