Household Waste Collection

Your household waste is collected by either:

  • a fortnightly wheelie bin collection
  • a weekly blue sack collection

The day of collection depends on where you live.

Your wheelie bin or blue sack must be placed at the nearest point of your property to the public highway by 6.30am on your day of collection.

If you have weekly collections we will provide 104 blue sacks each year (2 for each week). We will deliver 26 sacks in January, April, July and October.

We will provide one 180 litre wheelie bin to each household on a wheelie bin collection scheme. If one wheelie bin or a supply of 104 blue sacks is insufficient for your needs, an assessment can be booked with one of our Waste Wardens at Alternatively, call the StreetSmart Team (Monday to Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm) on 01793 445501.

Missed collections

Please note that waste will not be collected if:

  • the bin lid is not shut
  • there is any side waste
  • it is not in a wheelie bin or blue sack supplied by SBC

If your waste has not been collected for any of the above reasons, we will place a sticker on your waste explaining why.

If your waste has not been collected for any other reason, please let us know and we will aim to collect within one working day. All collections are generally completed by 2.30pm so please do not report a collection as missed prior to this time.

Alternatively, call the StreetSmart Team (Monday to Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm) on 01793 445501
