Waste and recycling collections update
Our waste crews are working hard to keep services running during the current hot weather. However, there are some delays to recycling and garden waste collections.
This is due to increased staff sickness levels and nationwide driver shortages. Food and general waste collections remain the priority.
If your bin has not yet been collected, please continue to leave it at the kerbside and crews will return as soon as they can. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we work to get collections back on schedule.

If your waste or recycling collection has been missed, leave it at the kerbside. Our crews will return as soon as they can.
Let us know about a missed collection
Put all your waste and recycling containers as close as possible to the edge of your property by 6.00am on your collection day. Make sure they are easy to see, or we might not collect them.
You can check your collection day by using our rubbish and recycling collection days tool.
If we don't collect your bins by 5.00pm, and you think we've forgotten, report it online before the end of the next working day.
You can also tell us if a public litter bin needs emptying.
We will be back to collect your waste/recycling if:
- it was put out on time and it is in the right place
- it had the right things in it
- you told us we missed it before 5.00pm on the next working day after the day it should have been collected
You can report a missed collection of:
- general waste
- recycling
- food waste
- garden waste (have your garden waste reference number ready)
- bins in a shared bin store
If you put your waste or recycling out late, or it's too late to tell us we missed it, you can either:
- take it to the household waste recycling centre ('the tip')
- take your waste or recycling in and put it out again for your next collection
