Report a seat, railing, bike stand or street furniture problem
We maintain and repair council-owned street furniture across the borough, including:
- public seats and benches
- cycle stands
- barriers and bollards
- railings
- footbridges
- gates and fences
Report a problem
Tell us:
- the road, footpath or green space where the street furniture is located
- its exact location, for example, outside house number 25
- the type of street furniture affected
If the problem involves an illuminated bollard, report a street lighting problem.
If the problem involves a bus stop or shelter, report a problem with a bus stop or shelter.

What happens next
We classify reports as Level 1 or Level 2, depending on the risk to public safety.
Level 1 reports
We classify a problem as Level 1 if:
- it poses a serious risk to public safety
- it involves offensive or racist graffiti
We will inspect the problem in one hour and aim to resolve it quickly.
Level 2 reports
We classify a problem as Level 2 if:
- it poses a minimal risk to public safety
We will inspect the problem in ten working days.
Replacement items
We cannot give a specific timescale if an item needs replacing. This is because the replacement may need to be manufactured.
