Before you apply

Before you apply for council housing, we recommend that you read:

If you are at risk of losing your home, or you have been served notice on your tenancy, this does not automatically mean you can join the housing register.

If you need help to apply

If you do not have an email address, you can get help and advice at your local library.

You can check library locations and opening hours.

If you are finding it hard to complete the application, you can ask a relative, friend or guardian to help you.

If you do not have anyone who can help you, your local library may be able to support you. You can also contact housing for help.

After you apply

Please do not apply again while we are assessing your application. We assess applications in date order.

If we accept you onto the housing waiting list, and you provide all proofs within the required timescale, your banding date will be the date you applied.
