Visitor parking permits

You can register for visitor parking permits if you are a resident in a resident parking zone.

These parking permits are digital. If you have digital visitor parking permits, your visitors don't need to display anything in their vehicle.

The yearly allowance per household is:

  • two lots of 25 'all day' permits
  • two lots of 25 'four-hour' permits

You can also purchase further ‘four-hour’ or ‘all day’ visitor permits.

The 'all day' session lasts 24 hours and starts at the time you activate your visitor's parking session. You can also set a parking session to start on a certain day at a certain time.

Please note: Existing paper visitor permits can still be used and do not have an expiry date.

How to apply

You will need to login to the MiPermit portal using your registered mobile number or email address, and the PIN which was sent to you when you originally registered.

You should have your Council Tax number available during your application.

If you experience difficulties with registering, please contact MiPermit on 0345 520 7007.

If you cannot have a digital permit, contact customer services or email parking@swindon.gov.uk.

Using and managing visitor permits

You need to activate visitor permits when you want to use them. This can be straightaway or in advance of your visitor's arrival.

Each visitor permit is valid for one vehicle. You need your visitor's vehicle registration number to activate the permit.

To manage or make changes to your permit, login to the MiPermit portal with your PIN and select 'Manage permits' from the menu.

You can then edit, cancel and renew your permit as required.

Prices

  • Visitor parking lots (25 parking sessions) - £17.50 (free to residents 60 years and over, proof will be required)
