Apply for funding to refresh your neighbourhood

What is Refresh?

Refresh is a grant scheme that Swindon Borough Council (SBC) Housing tenants can apply for to fund local community projects. Refresh supports plans that make neighbourhoods safer, improves the environment, enables tenants to learn new skills, and brings communities together.

Approved projects are maintained by the residents in the long term.

Some of the previous projects supported by Refresh funding include community gardens, environmental works, neighbourhood road safety campaigns and community cafes.

Who can apply for Refresh funding?

Applicants can be SBC Housing tenants or residents of the Borough. However, the project must benefit SBC Housing tenants.

What you’ll need before you apply

Ensure any additional information about your project, and/or area, is ready to upload before you start the application. For example, photographs, images or drawing should be saved to your device before beginning the application form.

We will need your neighbours’ agreement if the project is in a communal space such as a garden. You should therefore let them know that you are submitting an application for this project.

We will also ask how you plan to maintain the project after the work is complete and we will ask you to sign a document agreeing to this.

Once you are ready, you can apply using the online form below. If you would like to speak to us about your application before you apply, please email: getinvolved@swindon.gov.uk
