Companion pass
A companion bus pass is for people who have a severe disability and need someone to help them travel.
You can use the pass on local buses and Swindon Dial a Ride
Who can get a companion bus pass
You can get a companion bus pass if you are aged 80 or over.
You can also get one if you receive one of these benefits:
- Disability Living Allowance for children aged five to 16
- the care component of Disability Living Allowance
- Attendance Allowance
You must upload a document showing that you receive the benefit.
If you do not receive one of these benefits
You can ask a social worker, carer or general practitioner (GP) to confirm that you need a companion bus pass.
Download the companion allowance application letter (PDF). Ask the social worker, carer or GP to stamp it.
You must upload the stamped letter as evidence when you apply.

You can choose a companion bus pass when you apply for concessionary travel
Change your existing bus pass
If you already have a bus pass, you can ask us to change it to a companion bus pass.
You will need the 12-digit code shown on your current pass.
