Migrant health
If you are seeking sanctuary in Swindon, our Live Well Migrant Health team can support you. We help you build connections and take part in local community life through inclusive projects.
What you can expect
We offer community activities for refugees and asylum seekers. We work with partner organisations to design these projects around your needs.
You can also have one-to-one support for up to eight sessions.
We assess each referral to check the service is right for you. Once we accept your referral, a Live Well Navigator will contact you to arrange your first appointment.
Your Navigator can meet you at home or in a community setting. Together, you will:
- set goals
- create a personal plan to improve your wellbeing
- build on your interests and take part in community activities
Community activities
You can join flexible community opportunities, including:
- Global Gardeners – a weekly gardening session for refugees and asylum seekers, delivered with the Mechanics Institution Trust
- Free shop – a pop-up shop offering free clothing to refugees, asylum seekers and the wider community
- LGBTQ+ group – run with Harbour Project as a safe space to meet others, learn skills and discuss LGBTQ+ topics
- Women of the World – a women’s group celebrating diversity at the Swindon Hub
- Coffee and Conversations – weekly English classes for refugees, asylum seekers and anyone who wants to improve their English
