Falls prevention

Our strength and balance sessions are designed to enable you to stay strong and steady on your feet through exercise, reducing the risk of falls.

What you can expect

Our strength and balance exercises target muscles around your hips, legs and ankles which can improve stability and control and boost your confidence to navigate everyday activities with ease, such as walking upstairs.

Each referral is assessed for suitability. Once your referral is allocated to the service, one of our Live Well Be Active coaches will be in touch to arrange your consultation.

During the consultation, you will discuss your falls risk, personal goals, confidence levels and suitability for the programme, before being invited to watch or join in with a session.

The sessions are delivered in a friendly and encouraging group environment where everyone can engage at a level that suits them personally. The programme runs for 16 weeks at various convenient locations across Swindon.

Please note: There is a small fee for these sessions.
