Approved documents

Building Regulations are updated regularly. They include Approved Documents A to P.

You can find a short explanation of each document on the Planning Portal approved documents page.


Building regulation records

You can view building control records published under the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR):

When we make a decision, the options are:

  • accept
  • reject
  • conditional approval
  • full approval

If we accept or approve a proposal, we consider that it complies with the Building Regulations.
