Street name and directional road signs

The council is responsible for the maintenance and repair of damaged, missing or vandalised street signs including street name plates, traffic and directional signs, warning signs, boundary signs and regulatory signs.

Report a problem

To help us give the highest priority to the most urgent issues when reporting a problem please indicate:

  1. The road or footpath on which the sign is located
  2. Where the problem is located (i.e. outside House No.25)
  3. The type of sign that is affected

Please report problems with the A419 and M4 to Highways England.

Response times

Problems which require prompt attention because they represent an immediate or imminent risk to the public are inspected and made safe within one hour, following up with any permanent repair work within 6 weeks.

Problems of a less severe nature are assessed are inspected within 10 working days, with permanent repair work scheduled in to the Maintenance Programme.
