Fraud scams

A scam (otherwise known as a swindle, fiddle, racket, or stratagem), is a scheme to trick you or another out of money.

There are many different types of scams currently operating in the UK and they can arrive by post, phone call, text message or email, or from someone coming to your home.

How to protect yourself

Protect yourself and others from becoming victims of scamming, by increasing your awareness and taking steps to prevent it happening. Further information on protecting yourself can be found on the Citizens Advice website.
