Appeals

If you disagree with a decision about your Housing Benefit, you can do the following: 

  1. Ask us to explain the decision in more detail.
  2. Ask us to look at your Housing Benefit again and reconsider it.
  3. Make an appeal to Swindon Borough Council which can progress to an Independent Tribunal.

If you would like us to look at your claim again, or if you wish to appeal, you must let us know within one month from the date on the decision letter. If there are any special circumstances as to why you were unable to let us know within one month, you must contact us to explain; we may still be able to look at it.
