Parking - People with Disabilities (Blue Badge)

The Blue Badge scheme is a national arrangement of parking concessions for people with severe walking difficulties who travel either as drivers or passengers.

The scheme also applies to registered blind people, and people with severe upper limb disabilities who regularly drive a vehicle but cannot turn a steering wheel by hand.

Badge holders are allowed to park close to facilities and services such as public buildings, shops, etc.

Apply for a Blue Badge

You can apply for a Blue Badge by filling in an application form in one of two ways:

A printed application form can also be picked up from Swindon Borough Council Customer Services at Swindon Direct.

You will need to provide two 'passport style' photos in a digital format. If you do not have the facilities to provide a digital photo, this service can be provided free of charge by visiting Swindon Direct.
