Enquire about parking controls

Parking controls are introduced to manage parking on the public highway where relevant to do so.

There are two types of on-street parking controls:

• ‘Prohibited’ parking - yellow lines or clearways where it is an offence to park on the adjacent carriageway, pavement or verge
• ‘Permitted’ parking - parking bays, for example; pay and display or resident only zones

Parking controls may be introduced to:

• ensure access is available to emergency services vehicles
• keep the strategic road network clear of obstructions, especially during peak hours, for example; single yellow lines
• provide parking spaces, for example; on-street pay and display or resident’s parking zones
