The process to adopt CIL

The CIL examination and adoption process

The CIL examination and adoption process (PDF) provides information on the CIL DCS examination process. It also provides information on the location and availability of CIL documents after the adoption of the charging schedule on 6 April 2015.

CIL examination report

Following the examination of the Swindon CIL draft charging schedule on 4 November 2014, Mr Fox, the independently appointed examiner, has provided the council with the CIL examination final report.

This report is accompanied by a covering letter outlined below:

Hearing session(s), venue and timetable

The CIL examination hearings took place on Tuesday, 4 November 2014 in Committee Room 6 of Swindon Borough Council, Civic Offices, Euclid Street, Swindon, SN1 2JH.

The hearing was closed the same day. A programme for the hearings together with the issues and questions (PDF) is available to download.

The examiner requested a written response from the council to a number of additional questions before closing the hearing. It has subsequently raised a further request by letter. The response to these questions was submitted to the examiner on 28 November 2014. In addition the examiner also received a further submission from a party represented at the hearing.

Examination document library

To aid the examination, the council has created a CIL examination document library. Its contents are set out in the CIL examination document library schedule (PDF). The examination document library and its accompanying schedule of contents will be updated as required between submission and examination.
