Warm home discount

The Warm Home Discount is a £140 discount on your electricity bill, given between October and April by your electricity supplier.  Not everyone will qualify, and different suppliers have different scheme eligibility, so you will need to check with your own supplier to see if you qualify. You will generally need to receive a means tested benefit and then meet other specified criteria to be accepted for the discount. There is a finite amount of money available, so get your application in early. Not all suppliers offer the discount, for a list of those who do, please visit the Warm and Safe Wiltshire website.

Priority services register

Some people need extra help and support during a power cut. If you are registered on the Priority Services Register then you will get this extra support. It is free and easy to sign up to – to see if you qualify for the Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks Priority Services Register, please view the Warm and Safe Wiltshire website.

In addition to this you can also sign up to your individual gas and electricity suppliers Priority Services Register, as these may have additional benefits. Contact them directly for more information and to see what their schemes offer.
