Parking enforcement
Parking restrictions updates
The latest contraventions, introduced on 1 October 2018, are:
- Code 26 - vehicle parked more than 50 centimetres from the edge of the carriageway and not within a designated parking place
- Code 27 - vehicle parked adjacent to a dropped footway
- Code 28 - vehicle parked in a special enforcement area on part of the carriageway raised to meet the level of a footway, cycle track or verge
Penalty charge levels for these codes are mixed, with Code 26 and Code 27 being in the higher contravention bracket and Code 28 being in the lower contravention bracket. See the Parking Enforcement Penalties webpage for further information.
Driveways to residential premises
We can only respond to a complaint of a vehicle parked outside a single driveway where the complaint has been received from the occupier of the affected premises. In such instances we require the complainant to provide relevant requested information to confirm they are the occupier.
This includes:
- a name
- an address
- a telephone number
We may not be able to respond straight away. If the matter is of an urgent nature, and the vehicle is causing a dangerous situation, report the issue to us and we will advise you if we are able to attend. If we are unable to attend, it may be applicable to contact the police on 101.
You can use our TraffWeb map to view parking restrictions on your street and Swindon's wider road network. Remember, you can report any issues via the online form on the Parking Enforcement webpage.
