Aspen House development

A £17m regeneration of the former Aspen House site on Regent Street is set to get underway over the coming months (November 2021).

Hospitality giant Whitbread, owner of chains such as Beefeater and Brewers Fayre, has planning permission for a 194-bedroom Premier Inn complete with a Bar+Block restaurant on the ground floor opposite The Savoy.

The hotel will provide rooms for visitors and workers in Swindon, but it will also create around 45 full-time jobs and generate trade for other local businesses.

The site has sat empty since the previous council offices were demolished back in 2014 but will be given a new lease of life, helping to increase footfall in the local area benefitting other local businesses.
