Volunteer to help your local library

Swindon libraries are looking for volunteers to get involved in a variety of activities. There is something for everyone, whatever your interest and whatever time you have available.
If you would like to volunteer for Swindon libraries, you must first attend a Volunteer Recruitment Evening. This is a chance for anyone interested to find out what's on offer.

We discuss available roles and what is involved. We explain the application process and provide information about training and the benefits of volunteering with the library service.

Volunteering can help you develop your skills, meet new people and contribute to your local community. We are looking for volunteers to help with the Summer Reading Challenge, library support, library IT, english conversation clubs, children's storytime and activities and library events.

You can volunteer at Central library, Highworth library, North Swindon library, Park library and West Swindon library.

Volunteer recruitment events

We generally host these events on the 26 day of every month. They start at 6.00pm on week nights and 12.00pm on weekends. There is a presentation on all volunteering opportunities.

At each event, we talk about vacancies available across all Swindon libraries. You can attend at any location and still get a chance to volunteer at your preferred library. Unfortunately, there are no events taking place at this time.

For all enquiries, contact our Volunteer Development Coordinator at lvolunteers@swindon.gov.uk.  Alternatively, ask for more information at your local library.
