Publication scheme and open data catalogue - Equality impact assessments
- Description
-
Equality impact assessments help us check that our work supports our aim to make Swindon a fair and equal place to live. They help us understand different needs, remove barriers, and make sure our decisions treat people fairly.
Each assessment has four parts:
- Understanding what we plan to do
- Finding out who uses the service or who may use it in the future
- Checking whether any groups could miss out or be treated unfairly
- Making changes to improve fairness and remove barriers
These assessments help us make positive changes and meet our legal duties under equality law. They support good decision making by showing us where we can improve access, remove unfair impacts, and design services that work for everyone.
