View or comment on a planning application
Use the Public Access planning system to find planning applications and supporting documents. You can also register to track applications, view recent applications and comment on current ones.
Search for a planning application
You can search using:
- an application reference number, for example, S/14/0123
- an address, for example, Euclid Street or a postcode
- the map
If you register and give your contact details, you can track an application. Registered users can also view weekly or monthly lists of recent applications.

Copyright notice
Plans, drawings and other material submitted to us are protected by the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, section 47.
You may only download or print material from our website for personal consultation. This includes comparing current applications with previous schemes and checking whether development matches the approved plans.
You must not make further copies without permission from the copyright owner.
Ordnance Survey maps and maps based on Ordnance Survey data are subject to Crown copyright. You may only view or download these for private, non-commercial use.

Comment on current planning applications
To comment on a current application, you must register on the website and give your contact details.
After you register and submit your comment, you can choose to receive an email acknowledgement. Tick the relevant box before you submit your comment.

Appeal process
If a case goes to an expedited appeal, comments made on the application will be forwarded to the Secretary of State.
This only applies to household or minor commercial applications. You cannot submit any more comments once the appeal process has started.
