Here are some resources to give you an idea of what you might expect a young person to be doing in their communication development according to their age.
- You may find the Speech and Language UK charity booklet helpful. It gives advice and guidance on how to encourage communication in children and young people, explain what children will likely be doing at a given age and give top tips for what you can do as a practitioner and in a setting, universally speaking birth to 5 years and 5 to 11 years
