Dingley’s Promise early years inclusion project

With the support of Comic Relief funding, Dingley’s Promise are working with 30 local authorities over five years to increase the number of young children with SEND accessing early years and childcare places.

Swindon is one of 30 local authorities lucky enough to have been chosen to work on this exciting project.

Free training

A comprehensive and extensive training offer of free online training includes 10 courses over five years, delivered via a mix of workbooks, videos and activities.

Training can be completed at your own pace and is assessed through learner’s experiences rather than a formal assessment.

It is available to anyone working with young children such as Health Visitors, Social Workers, Therapeutic Services, Early Years Practitioners and Family Support Workers.

Parents are also welcome to take the course if they so wish.

Mark of achievement

Dingley's Promise have replaced their Kitemark with the 'Mark of Achievement' for Inclusion Friendly Settings. Settings with four or more practitioners can gain the mark of achievement when 75% of their staff have completed the inclusive practice course and two further courses from the programme.

Settings with less than four practitioners, including childminders, can gain the mark of achievement once the lead practitioner has completed the inclusive practice course and two further courses from the programme.
