Volunteer with Live Well Swindon
Volunteer with Live Well Swindon and use your time and skills to support people in your community. You will help residents who do not have family or friends nearby.
What you can expect
When you volunteer with us, we will help you feel part of the team from the start. We will:
- explain your role clearly
- support you with training and supervision
- run events to thank you for your time and contribution
Volunteering can make a positive and lasting difference to the people you support. It can also help you build confidence and learn new skills.

This video shows how volunteering can make a difference to people’s lives.
Each application is reviewed to check it is suitable. After you apply, a member of the volunteering team will contact you to discuss your application.
Volunteering opportunities
We offer flexible volunteering roles to suit different interests and availability, including:
- Swindon Circles – a befriending service that helps reduce loneliness and improve wellbeing. You will be matched with a local resident to offer companionship in person or by phone
- Local Heroes – a flexible role where you give small amounts of time to help people with one-off practical tasks, such as shopping, light gardening or dog walking
- Forget Me Not Cakes – you bake birthday cakes for isolated residents who may not otherwise celebrate their birthday
