Steps to health
The Steps to Health Programme promotes better health through physical activity. If your GP/Practice Nurse/Health Care Professional believes physical activity will help to manage any medical condition you may have, they may refer you to the scheme (There is an inclusion/exclusion criteria).
You will work with experienced and qualified exercise specialists to safely improve your health over a 12 week programme.
Being more active, more often can potentially:
- reduce the risk of heart disease
- reduce the risk of osteoporosis
- control body weight
- reduce blood pressure
- increase energy
- improve stamina
- improve strength and tone of muscles
- improve shape and appearance
- improve confidence
- improve posture
- reduce stress or depression
An initial exercise consultation is required and sessions will cost no more than £3.00 each.
