Reducing loneliness and isolation

If you are feeling lonely and would like more social contact, Swindon Circles can help.

What you can expect

If you would like a volunteer to visit you at home, or to call you regularly for a chat, you can apply for Swindon Circles. We will try to match you with a suitable volunteer.

We assess every referral to check the service is right for you. Once your referral is accepted, a Live Well navigator will contact you to talk through your needs and answer your questions.

Your navigator will try to match you with a volunteer who offers companionship in person or by phone. We have a limited number of volunteers, so we cannot guarantee a match.

Please note: this service does not replace care services. It offers companionship alongside any support you already receive.

Check if you can use this service

You can apply if you:

  • are housebound
  • have less than five hours of social contact a week (not including time with a paid or unpaid carer)
  • live in Swindon
  • are aged 18 or over
