As a local authority, we have a legal duty to make sure there are enough school places for pupils in Swindon.

Our school place planning strategy uses information from the local plan. It also looks at:

  • current pupil numbers
  • predicted future pupil numbers
  • birth rates
  • school capacity
  • new housing

The latest strategy covers 2024 to 2028 and replaces previous versions.
