Our ceremony rooms
We offer four ceremony rooms at Swindon Register Office and Ceremony Rooms to suit a range of preferences. Located in the Civic Offices in the heart of Swindon, we are conveniently position whether you are planning a large celebration, or a small and intimate gathering, each room provides a warm and welcoming setting.
The rooms are bright, neutral in colour tones and are tastefully decorated throughout with floral decorations. We also offer the option for an intimate outdoor ceremony in our Courtyard Room and garden.
Most rooms also include a sound system and allow personal touches such as music, readings and digital photo displays to help make your ceremony personal and memorable.
We have a dedicated and professional ceremony team who will ensure you and your guests are well looked after.

The Garden Room
The Garden Room is our grandest space and perfect for larger ceremonies.
In this room, you will have:
- Floral displays
- Seating for up to 65 guests, plus the couple
- An option to increase capacity to 85 by opening the adjoining Juno Room (additional fee applies)
- French windows opening onto the Civic Rose Garden, with direct access to a dedicated outdoor photo area
- A choice of ceremony wording, readings and music
- A full sound system with infra-red support for guests who are hard of hearing
- A display screen to show a single image, a photo slideshow (up to 25 photos), or a music tribute
- Live streaming of your ceremony with a secure link to share, available to watch live and on demand for 28 days
- A downloadable video file
- An option to purchase a commemorative keepsake on DVD or USB
The Juno Room
A bright and welcoming room, ideal for small and medium-sized ceremonies.
In this room, you will have:
- Floral displays
- Views of the Civic Rose Garden
- Seating for up to 20 guests, plus the couple
- A choice of ceremony wording, readings and music
- A full sound system with infra-red support for guests who are hard of hearing
The Courtyard Room and garden
The Courtyard Room is designed for couples who want a small intimate ceremony. In the summer months, couples can also use the small Courtyard Garden for their ceremony, weather permitting.
The Courtyard Garden is an ideal spot for an outdoor wedding, it catches the sun most of the day and is quiet and romantic. We have solar lights located on the pagoda and a water feature to add ambiance.
It’s suitable for:
- The couple, plus a maximum of eight guests (this includes two witnesses and any children)
- Gentle background music
- Photograph opportunities in the Courtyard Garden during summer months
Statutory Ceremony Room
This room is for couples who just want to complete the legal formalities of a marriage or civil partnership without a full ceremony. It meets the legal minimum requirements.
Key information:
- Only the couple and two witnesses may attend
- No additional guests or children are permitted
- If a translator is needed, they must act as one of the witnesses
- The ceremony does not include music, personal vows, readings, ring exchange or being given away
- Bookings can only be made up to four months in advance
- If you change the date after booking, an administration fee will apply
Please note: We are unable to accommodate additional guests over and above the stated numbers due to health and safety risk assessments.
Personal touches for your ceremony
Celebratory certificates
You can order a commemorative certificate for your wedding or civil partnership ceremony held at any of our approved venues or ceremony rooms.
Certificates can include a personal message or dedication and will be prepared in advance. They are signed and presented at the end of your ceremony.
Music
You can choose music for your ceremony from our extensive library of tracks. If the song or version you would like is not available, we will do our best to source it for you.
The music library is only available for ceremonies in the Garden room and Juno room.
