Join the library

You can join Swindon Libraries now and gain free access to our wide range of online resources and services.

Use the link below to complete an online joining form.

Once you have successfully completed and submitted your form, an automatically generated code will appear on the screen.

Make a note of this code and then do one of the following:

  • Take the code (and some identification) to the staff desk at the library you want to use. Our staff will then activate your new membership and supply you with a library card. You will then be able to borrow printed books as well as access our e-books and e-magazines.
  • Email your name and code to Libraries@swindon.gov.uk. Our staff will then activate your new membership and supply you with a virtual library card number to access digital resources. You will then be able to borrow from our range of e-books, e-audio and e-magazines, as well as being able to search our premium e-resources and online learning. Your instant digital membership will last for six months. If at a later date you would like to borrow printed books, you will need to visit a library with some identification and staff will issue you with a membership card.

Your instant digital membership will last for six months.
