Katja Badenski
Private Rented Sector Officer

Having recently joined the Homeless Prevention Team at Swindon Borough Council, my priority is to provide support, transparency and clarity to private landlords and letting agents in Swindon. I am here to offer assistance and guidance throughout the letting process for all parties involved.

I work alongside the Prevention Team, who support many people facing homelessness, often through no fault of their own. I assess each person’s needs, finances and housing history to find the best possible match with the landlords I collaborate with.

Our aim is to achieve positive outcomes for everyone.

My focus is to foster strong relationships between landlords and the Council. You may see me at networking events. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss any properties you have available to rent. I look forward to building a positive future with you.

Serah Lal
Accommodation Officer

I manage Private Sector Leasing properties for residents who need a fresh start and where the Council has a homelessness duty. Many of these residents face complex challenges, and my role is to help them settle in, manage their tenancy and prepare for a move to a permanent home.

This involves guiding them through housing issues, ensuring tenancy agreements are followed and stepping in when needed to keep things on track.

We are looking to expand our Private Sector Leasing portfolio. If you have a property to rent, I would be keen to hear from you.

Mariana Sandu
Warm Welcome Resettlement Officer

As a Warm Welcome Resettlement Officer, I am dedicated to helping individuals secure private rented accommodation and prevent homelessness.

Renting can be difficult, especially for those facing language barriers, financial pressures or challenges connecting with landlords and letting agents. I am here to make the process easier. I introduce clients to landlords, highlight their potential as reliable tenants and help build strong landlord–tenant relationships.
