Neighbourhood wardens

Neighbourhood wardens work in their neighbourhoods providing a service to council tenants. Their main role is to improve the quality of life for residents.

Their day-to-day activities include:

  • responding to community issues
  • creating a safer and cleaner environment
  • encouraging community involvement
  • participating in community projects
  • promoting respect for people and property
  • inspecting communal areas of blocks of flats
  • promoting the involvement of young people in their local environment through the young warden scheme and school projects
  • helping tenants and leaseholders to access other organisations and services

You can contact your neighbourhood warden for the problems related to:

  • environment
  • anti-social behaviour
  • litter or fly-tipping
  • graffiti
  • disposal of used needles
  • local disputes
  • community safety
