Swindon's Shopmobility scheme is available for anyone with limited mobility and provides a selection of manually-propelled and battery-powered wheelchairs and scooters.
The aim of Shopmobility is simply to help people with mobility difficulties to be able to shop and use the facilities in Swindon's town centre.
Staff are on hand to welcome you and offer advice.

Who Can Use The Service
Anyone with limited mobility can use the scheme, whether through permanent or temporary disability, illness, accident or age. Persons under the age of 16 will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult or carer.
Swindon Shopmobility is situated on the ground floor of the Wyvern Multi Storey Car Park in Islington Street. Please see Car Park Locations.
Full year members are entitled to park free so long as they are using equipment from Shopmobility.
Temporary day members are not entitled to free parking.
If you wish to join the scheme, the registration fee is £15.00 per year. There is a usage charge of £1.00 each time the service is used. Non-registered users (temporary) are charged £5.00 for a temporary registration fee, plus the £1.00 usage charge.
A refundable deposit of £10 will be charged for anyone requiring a bag or a cushion with a hired wheel chair (including scooters). A receipt will be given and this must be produced at the end of the hire period to reclaim your refund. This deposit in no way covers the cost of the equipment hired and, if mislaid, these items are expensive to replace. The deposit is documented on the hire agreement form.
