View or comment on a planning application
The 'public access for planning' system allows you to search and view planning applications and documents, as well as comment on current applications.
You can search for planning applications using the:
- application reference number, for example, S/14/0123
- address, for example, Euclid Street or just postcode
- map
You can track a planning application by registering and providing your contact details. Registered users can also view weekly or monthly lists of recent applications.
Copyright notice
Plans, drawings and other material submitted to us are protected by the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (section 47).
You may only download or print material from our website for personal consultation, comparing current applications with previous schemes, or veryfying development completion in accordance with approved plans.
Further copies must not be made without the prior permission of the copyright owner.
Ordnance Survey maps and maps derived from Ordnance Survey data are subject to Crown copyright. These may be viewed or downloaded for private, non-commercial purposes only.

Comment on current planning applications
To comment, you must register on the site by providing your contact details.
After registering and submitting your comment, you can choose to receive an email acknowledgment by ticking the relevant box before submitting.
Your email address will be removed from publicly available information on our website. For details on how your information will be used, see our Privacy Notice.

Appeal process
In cases of an expedited appeal, comments made about the application will be forwarded to the Secretary of State.
This applies only to household or minor commercial applications, and no further comments can be submitted once the appeal procedure has begun.
