Business rates refunds

If you are due a refund and do not currently pay by Direct Debit, please upload a copy of your bank statement with account name, number and sort code using the 'sending us documents form' at the bottom of this page so we can process your refund.

Pay online using a debit card

To pay your business rates online you will need: 

  • your business rates account number
  • your company name, trading name or surname

The system will provide you with prompts for the information you need to provide.

Direct Debit via your bank or building society

Direct Debit is our preferred method of payment. It also makes it easier for you to make monthly payments.

Set up or amend a Direct Debit

If you are unable to complete the online Direct Debit form, please download and complete the mandate below:

BACS payment

If you wish to pay by BACS (Bankers Automated Clearing Services) please quote:

  • Swindon Borough Council collection account
  • Sort code 309841
  • Bank account 79041360 and
  • Your business rates account number

By phone

Call our automated payments line on 0845 603 5058 which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Payments can only be made by debit card. Calls cost 5p per minute plus your telephone company’s network access charge.
