SEND quality assurance framework

A Quality Assurance Framework reflects a strong commitment to evidence-based decision-making and continuous improvement. A Quality Assurance Framework is designed to maintain the highest standards in delivering a product or service. In SEND, this is delivering an efficient and effective service on the backdrop of legislation and ensuring all we do improves the lives of children, young people and their families and supports children and young people to reach their full potential and achieve their aspirations.

Swindon’s SEND Quality Assurance framework provides a structure that enables all partners to engage with quality assurance, measuring the impact of service delivery and proactively seeking views and feedback from service users.

There are 3 key principles:

Participation and Partnership – This is our commitment to listening to children, young people and their families. Coproduction in the quality assurance process is a core expectation of all service leads and commissioners

Quality – This is our commitment to the delivery of effective services through policies, procedures and continuous professional development.

Accountability – This is our belief that everyone is accountable for the quality of their work and be prepared to account for the impact this has on children and young people’s outcomes.

Swindon’s SEND Quality Assurance Framework (PDF) sets out the arrangements and clarifies the roles, responsibilities and tools, so together, we know how well we are doing.
