Support for young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) who are preparing for adulthood.
If you are aged 14 or over and have SEND, or you support a young person with SEND, join us at My Futures Event 2026.
This free event brings together local organisations, education providers, support services and community groups. You can get information, ask questions and learn about the support available as you plan for adult life.

How the event can help
Preparing for adulthood can feel overwhelming. This event gives you the chance to explore the support and opportunities available in Swindon, including:
- further education
- employment opportunities
- supported internships
- independent living
- health and wellbeing support
- social activities
- community support services

- ask questions in a friendly and informal environment
- learn about local opportunities and support services
- explore education, training and employment options
- get advice about independent living and preparing for adulthood
- build confidence and start planning for the future

- professionals who support young people with SEND
- schools and other education settings
Schools and education settings
Schools can book allocated time slots for their students to attend the event.

Helping young people prepare for adulthood
The event aims to help young people with SEND explore opportunities, build confidence and prepare for a successful future.
A regular 'Stay and Play' session for parents who have children with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities aged 0 to 5 years.
Bring your children along for a play while you meet other parents and have cup of coffee! The sessions are free to attend but you must book a space by emailing: sendstayandplay.ssfv@outlook.com.
Look on the Swindon SEND Families Voice website or Facebook page for dates and times of the sessions.
Branches is our face to face support group which is open to all parents and carers of children and young people with SEND, aged 0 to 25 years.
We have guest speakers. It is an informal relaxed atmosphere, and you have a brilliant opportunity to meet other parents and carers of children and young people with SEND. You don’t need to book a space, just turn up! It’s free to attend!!

SAM is excited to announce the launch of a brand new children and young people’s advocacy service called The Indy Project. Funded by Children in Need this three-year project aims to enable children and young people aged 10 to 18 years to reach personal independence goals.
