Adult care: Getting financial advice

Financial advice is available from a number of providers including:

  • Citizens Advice Swindon - offering independent advice to all residents irrespective of their situation or financial resources
  • MoneyHelper - bringing together the support and services of three government-backed financial guidance providers: Money Advice Service, The Pensions Advisory Service and Pension Wise
  • Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA) - set up by the financial industry specifically to regulate financial advisers. Only those who can demonstrate an appropriate knowledge and expertise to help people with their financial needs are registered.
  • Age UK - a charity dedicated to supporting people in later life
  • Paying for care - an information portal for those seeking advice and guidance on the cost of elderly care. It provides information on what and when financial support may be available, as well as giving an indication of what the costs are likely to be.
