Kingsdown crematorium
Important information during coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic
Cremations and burials
We are considering guidance from the Government while remaining committed to ensuring that we continue to carry out dignified and respectful services at Kingsdown Crematorium.
We are:
- not limiting the number of people that can attend a funeral. The chapel has also returned to its full 120 seat capacity.
- the waiting room is open and the hot drinks vending machine is operational.
- offering a webcasting facility. Please speak to the funeral director if you wish to use this.
- recommending mourners wear a face covering
- spraying the chapel with long-lasting disinfectant
- allowing 30 people to attend an interment of cremated remains
Crematorium and cemetery grounds
Kingsdown crematorium and cemetery grounds are now open for visitors, including the Book of Remembrance Room.
Radnor Street and Whitworth Road cemeteries are also open for visitors.
The Crematorium office is open for urgent enquiries but we would ask that for any general enquiries an appointment is booked or use email or telephone. Contact us by telephone on 01793 822259 or via e-mail at kingsdowncrematorium@swindon.gov.uk.
We appreciate your understanding in this matter and thank you for working with us in such challenging times.
How to arrange a cremation
The arrangement of a cremation is usually a service provided by a Funeral Director (sometimes called an Undertaker). We can however offer help and advice if you have any specific enquiries.
