Public health annual report

The Director of Public Health has a statutory requirement, under the Health and Social Care Act 2012, to produce an annual report detailing the health of the population.

The purpose of this report is to provide insight into the health of people in Swindon.

The 2022 report focuses on ‘Levelling Up’, the national strategy based around a number of key missions which aims to reduce disparities between regions within the United Kingdom, and to build strong local economies.

The report takes a local public health lens to the 'Levelling Up' agenda. It looks at how the 'Levelling Up' missions link to health and wellbeing and describes how Swindon’s Public Health team and wider council workforce are involved, directly and indirectly, in delivering those missions to improve life for Swindon’s residents and reduce inequalities.
