Introduction

We commission a wide range of services to provide support to people living in Swindon.

The Care Act 2014 sets out a duty for local authorities to facilitate a diverse, sustainable high quality market for the local population, including those who pay for their own care and to promote efficient and effective operation of the adult care and support market as a whole.

Market sustainability and fair cost of care

In December 2021, the government made an announcement on the Market Sustainability and Fair Cost of Care Fund.  As a result, we undertook a Cost of Care Exercise with providers in Swindon. The results are included in the reports below:

Following the Cost of Care exercise undertaken with providers, we have now developed a Market Sustainability Plan for Swindon which is available to download below:
